The 4th edition of Frames - Portuguese Film Festival opens in Stockholm with a concert by Sérgio Godinho and Filipe Raposo.
With a career of over 40 years, Sérgio Godinho's music, voice and lyrics still echo the Portuguese Revolution of 1974, which made him the author of some of the most unanimously acclaimed songs in Portuguese music.
Pianist-composer Filipe Raposo has collaborated with major Portuguese songwriters and his award-winning albums have been widely praised by critics and his own peers.
Singer, songwriter, author, playwright, stage and screen actor, film director... In a 40-year career that keeps going strong, Sérgio Godinho has done — and continues doing — it all, going where his boundless curiosity takes him. Yet none of his talents is as admired and as recognised as that which has been his career's mainstay: his songwriting. Godinho's songs are not just classics in their own right: they have soundtracked the lives of three generations of fans united by the common respect for one of the truly few icons in Portuguese music.Filipe Raposo was born in Lisbon in 1979. Master in Piano Jazz Performance by Royal College of Music (Stockholm), and Bachelor degree in Classical Composition by Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
Since 2001 he works as a composer, arranger and pianist with many of the leading names in Portuguese music and film. He collaborates regularly with the major songwriters of the Portuguese Revolution of 1974 (José Mário Branco, Fausto, Sergio Godinho) and other relevant authors of contemporary vocal music. He also maintains a close relation with some of the most prominent names of the international fado scene such as Joana Amendoeira, Carminho and Camané, and plays in several jazz projects (Yuri Daniel, ToraTora BigBand, Johannes Krieger).
