Open Stage - tema Indien

Open Stage är scenen för dig - musiker, dansare, lyssnare - som vill testa något nytt. 
Kvällens tema är indisk/sydasiatisk musik och dans och genomförs i samarbete med Stockholm Sangeet Conference som firar 10års jubileum.
Kom och lyssna till musik och dans från Indien/Sydasien!
Kvällen inleds 18.00 med Childrens Sangeet Conference: elever från bl a Kulturskolan Stockholm, Srutilaya Music Centre m fl uppträder med indisk musik och dans.
19.00 fortsätter kvällen med ett antal artister inom indisk/sydasiatisk musik och dans. I slutet av kvällen står scenen öppen för spontana framträdanden och nyfödda samarbeten...

Open Stage is the stage for you - musician, dancer, audience - who wants to try out something new. The theme of the evening is indian/south asian music and dance and it is organized in collaboration with Stockholm Sangeet Conference 10 years Jubilee.

Come and enjoy music and dance from India/South Asia! 
The evening starts at 6 pm with Childrens Sangeet Conference: students from Kulturskolan Stockholm,

Srutilaya Music Centre and others will perform indian music and dance. 
At 7 pm the evening continues with different artists within indian/south asian music and dance. In the end of the evening the stage will be open for spontaneous acts and new born collaborations...

Kashif Farrukh

Kashif Farrukh is a professional singer from Pakistan. He released his first music video 2015 called Naina ”Eyes”. A debut video marking the start of a promising solo career. We are happy to present Kashif as our opening act this evening.

Vocalist with a Bachelors Degree in Hindustani Classical from Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith in Lucknow, India.  Anaya sings in different Indian languages and genres both Carnatic classical and Hindustani, Bollywood and folk, both on stage and on television in Asia and Sweden, as well as for the Indian Embassy. Ananya currently runs an organisation called Sanskriti, that works to promote and preserve Indian culture in Sweden. Past two years she directed ”Colours of India” featured on Namaste Stockholm at Kungsträdgården. Tonight she will perform together with her daughter. 


Ashwini Gore-Deshpande (hindustani classical vocal)

Ashwini Gore - Deshpande is an Indian Classical vocalist from Pune, currently teaching music in Tampere, Finland. A versatile singer who performs various genres like semi classical (Natyageet, Abbang, Bhajan) and light music (marathi and hindi). Finalist in the popular SaReGaMaPa Zeemarathi TV Show. Trained by her father, Shri. Mukund Gore and renowned vocalist Shrimati Jayashree Patnekar. It’s an honour to have her on Open Stage this evening all the way from Finland.


Archana Roy (hindustani flute / vocal)

Archana Roy is a hindustani flutist and vocalist from India. She has been performing on many stages around India and is now teaching flute and vocal for the last few years.

Circle of Love (devotional songs)

”Circle of Love” would like to share a moment of devotional songs based on love, poetry and Shanti Mantra. Songs are composed in Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi and other Indian languages. Vocal: Shantonu from Kolkata (West Bengal) Guitar: Dhyanesh from Norway and friends.
